Speaking to reporters, GPCC media convener Manish Doshi said the institution produced 60 ayurvedic doctors annually through its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. “It is deeply concerning that despite the passage of 5 years since a November 21, 2020 govt resolution granting it national status, the college was not started. Citing provisions of the Gujarat Ayurvedic University Act, 2021, Doshi said that the responsibility to determine the university headquarters, establish constituent undergraduate colleges, and approve postgraduate colleges or centres rests with the state govt.

“Despite the act being in force for several years, no concrete decision was taken to resume UG or PG courses at the institution,” Doshi said.
