However, out of 232 vacant seats available in this round, only 184 seats were filled, leaving 48 seats vacant. This marked an increase in unfilled seats compared to the 3rd round, where 35 seats remained vacant. A total of 1,654 candidates were included in the merit list for the 4th round, of whom 874 students filled their choices. The round was conducted for 232 seats across MD, MS and diploma courses. Following the allotment process, 184 candidates secured admission in various colleges, while 48 seats did not receive any takers. Meanwhile, allotments for 2,980 seats under the All India Quota were also completed. Candidates were given time until February 28 to confirm their admissions, which was also the deadline for concluding the admission process. Currently allotted candidates must confirm their admission by paying fees by February 29. Sources indicated that most of the vacant seats were in non-clinical branches. Notably, a significant number of seats in Microbiology remained unfilled for the 1st time. Seats in branches such as Anatomy also remained vacant. With the deadline approaching, uncertainty prevailed over whether another round would be conducted to fill the remaining vacant seats in both the state and All India quotas. Medical sources suggested that since many All India seats may remain vacant across states, there could be a demand to extend the admission deadline and hold an additional round.
