Concerns Raised Over Metro Lines 4 and 5 Project
Activist Adv Radhika Rane emphasized the need for a thorough assessment of passenger numbers and the utilization of Metro Lines 4 and 5 before further project development. Environmental issues have been flagged, with activist Rohit Joshi alleging the approval for cutting approximately 3,900 trees. He criticized the delay in constituting the Tree Authority Committee, which has been inactive for six months, and claimed he was not invited to a hearing despite his objections to the tree cutting. Protesters are demanding greater transparency regarding the project’s alignment, costs, and environmental impact before it advances.
