Refill booking norms for rural consumers is now on a par with those applicable in urban areas
Mysuru : The minimum waiting period for rural consumers to book a fresh LPG cylinder refill has been reduced from 45 days to 25 days, according to Mehul J Patel, state president of the LPG Distributors of India.
Patel said the Union govt has approved the change, bringing the refill booking norms for rural consumers on a par with those applicable in urban areas.
Under the revised rule, rural consumers will be eligible to book their next LPG refill once 25 days have elapsed since the delivery of their previous cylinder. Patel said the revised 25-day booking interval came into effect following an official update issued on Sept 7, 2026. The move is expected to provide greater convenience to rural households, particularly those with higher LPG consumption, by shortening the waiting period between successive refill bookings.
