Nashik : Demanding urgent administrative overhauls to restore transparency and meritocracy in govt recruitment, citizens, organizations, mentors, and concerned parents in Nashik have urged the state govt to fix accountability and eliminate corruption in public examinations.
It will hold an interactive meeting in the Nashik division on Sept 30 with students, candidates, parents, teachers, educational institutions, and local stakeholders. The demands come amid a growing wave of discontent among competitive exam aspirants, which prompted the state govt to constitute a high-level task force. The task force is charged with proposing measures to make recruitment examinations safer, more transparent, trustworthy, and candidate-centric. Speaking to TOI , Milind Wagh of the Forum Against Corruption in Education (FACE) outlined critical operational challenges plaguing the recruitment ecosystem. He cited persistent paper leaks, exam cancellations, prolonged procedural delays, and rising youth unemployment as major drivers of frustration. To address these systemic vulnerabilities, Wagh recommended a multi-pronged reform strategy. He also advocated for establishment of a centralized online platform, modelled after the Pavitra Portal, for recruiting college professors and academic staff to curb corruption and nepotism at private institutions. Demanding immediate MPSC reforms, competitive exam mentor Ram Khairnar added, “Question paper errors are unacceptable from a constitutional body, as cancelling flawed questions deprives genuine candidates of their competitive edge. The commission should also make its website user-friendly and fix its helpline, which remains out of service most of the time.”
