The aspirants said offline OMR examinations should be given preference for large exams, citing concerns over inadequate computers, internet connectivity, power cuts and server or software failures, particularly at centres in rural areas. Nagpur : A group of competitive examination aspirants from Maharashtra have demanded major reforms in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The aspirants sought appointment of honest and competent officers to restore confidence in the recruitment process. Some aspirants demanded that large-scale MPSC examinations be conducted through the offline OMR system instead of computer-based tests, while seeking a complete overhaul of question-paper security to prevent leaks and other malpractices. If online examinations are retained, they sought mandatory technical standards for every centre, including backup power, dual internet/server systems, trained technical staff, pre-examination mock runs and third-party technical audits. The representation, submitted by competitive examination students and supported by organisations including Vidarbha Competitive Examination Association and Amravati Competitive Examination Association, stated that dissatisfaction has reached a level where some student groups have boycotted interactions with the committee. A memorandum submitted by Yuva Lok Kalyan Samiti sought measures ranging from anonymised question-paper setting and encrypted question banks to strict accountability of private examination agencies.
