Amravati : The Super Speciality Hospital, Amravati – a health lifeline for patients from all five districts of Amravati division – will now get a state-of-the-art metro blood bank.
Following persistent follow-up by Amravati MLA Sulbha Sanjay Khodke, the planning department has sanctioned Rs 9 crore for the hospital. Out of this, Rs 4.94 crore has been administratively approved for a fully-equipped metro blood bank with pathology and laboratory, and Rs 4.41 crore for medical material, advanced equipment, machines and solar panels for other units. The Amravati hospital runs 7-8 units including kidney disease and transplant, plastic surgery, paediatric surgery, cardiac, cancer and neurology.

Patients come even from remote Dharni-Melghat and MP border, but surgeries depended on blood banks of other hospitals.
