The Raipurwa Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Center in Kanpur is set to employ a full-time veterinary doctor. This initiative aims to enhance the center’s capacity to prevent animal cruelty and ensure effective protection and treatment for injured, sick, and abandoned animals.

He directed that the selection process be completed and the appointment ensured within the next 15 days. It was stated in the meeting that a total of 252 animals and birds of various species have been treated at SPCA Raipurwa. These include 76 dogs, 97 bovines, 8 horses, 2 buffaloes, 25 kites, 21 pigeons, 3 vultures, 3 peacocks, one owl, 2 langurs, 6 monkeys, 3 cats, and 5 egrets.

During the review meeting, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh issued instructions for the appointment of a full-time veterinarian at the SPCA Center. The district magistrate directed that the SPCA Center be kept under CCTV surveillance. He instructed that the entry of unauthorized persons into the center be prevented to ensure the safety of the animals housed there for treatment and care.
