The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time lands on Switch 2 on 5 November with rebuilt visuals, voiced cutscenes and a jump button.
Nintendo has confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time arrives on Switch 2 on 5 November, rebuilding the 1998 Nintendo 64 game with completely overhauled textures, fully voiced cutscenes and a symphonic orchestral score. The date landed at the close of a Direct held on Tuesday to mark four decades of the series, and it came with the first proper gameplay look at the remake.
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2, carrying a Triforce design across the console and dock, goes on sale 29 October. The Switch app’s ZELDA NOTES section adds progress tracking, hint image hunts and a daily quiz drawn from over 2,000 questions. Beyond the game, the live action film opens 30 April 2027, and a concert tour starts in Tokyo in January before reaching Chicago, London and Melbourne.
The remake keeps the shape of the original instead of reinventing it. Link finally gets a dedicated jump button and right stick camera control, the day and night cycle now keeps running even inside towns, and a feature called Threads of Time lets players check their next objective on a tapestry that fills in as the story moves. Z-targeting is untouched. Link still does not speak, though the characters around him now have a lot more to say. A matching Pro Controller and a carrying case with screen protector are sold separately, and the first print run of the physical game ships with textured foil cover art while stock lasts. Nintendo has not put out pricing yet. Two are planned for later this year, an acoustic model and an electric one from HORI. Hum a tune Link has learned near the console microphone and he plays it back in game. Get the latest technology news and updates. Download the TOI App.
