Bus Driver Charged After Pedestrian Injured in Goregaon
Goregaon police in Mumbai have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against a private bus driver, Vijayprakash Gupta, following an incident where he struck a pedestrian, resulting in severe injuries. The victim, a man aged between 55 and 60, lost consciousness and was subsequently admitted to the Intensive Care and Coronary Unit (ICCU) at a local hospital. His identity remains unknown.
After the accident, Gupta transported the injured pedestrian to Trauma Care Hospital before departing. Medical staff later referred the victim to Sion Hospital due to the severity of his injuries, which include trauma to the head, eyes, nose, fingers, and face. Police attempted to obtain a statement from the victim at the hospital, but he had not regained consciousness at the time of their visit.
The crash occurred on September 6 near Ratna restaurant at Goregaon West. The victim was crossing the road at 11pm when the bus hit him from the front. The bus was moving from MTNL Junction towards Ram Mandir at the time.
