Munnar : A tiger was spotted on an estate road close to a residential area in Munnar, triggering concern among locals and plantation workers.
The animal that was walking along the road moved into the nearby tea plantation hearing the sound of a vehicle, according to locals. The tiger was seen on the road connecting the Nettikudi division of Goodarvila Estate to the Silent Valley area. The animal was spotted during daytime on a road frequently used by workers and locals. The latest incident comes days after a tiger reportedly attacked and injured a cow that had been left for grazing in the Silent Valley division. Residents have urged the forest department to intensify surveillance and take immediate measures to prevent the tiger from entering residential and work areas.
