CHENNAI: Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is set to skip the VIP entry into Chennai airport via Gate 6 and will enter through the regular T2 international terminal like other passengers to fly to London, after the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) denied entry to his advisor Vishnu Reddy, who is accompanying the CM on his maiden overseas visit to woo investments, citing security reasons. Airport sources said only the President and Prime Minister are eligible for ceremonial entry into the airport, while the facility is extended to the chief minister and governor of the particular state on special request. However, the chief minister reportedly refused to use the VIP gate only for himself and decided to enter the airport like other international passengers. After receiving the information, airport authorities made arrangements to usher in the guests through Gate No. D9, which is used only for emergencies.
