Kolkata: Bengal BJP has sent a show-cause notice to South 24 Parganas organisational district president Soma Ghosh on the grounds of “indiscipline”, seeking an explanation from her within seven days. The notice was issued on Wednesday by Pratap Banerjee, chairman of the party’s disciplinary committee.
The four BJP leaders expelled by Ghosh are Vijay Das, president of Booth 227 in Ramnagar; Sanjit Shasmal, president of Booth 224 in Ramnagar; Ashok Karmakar, a BJP leader from Bhadura region; and Amit Sardar, president of Booth 237 in Ramnagar.
Banerjee said that the move was against the constitution of the party and had made a dent in the party’s image. She had expelled four party leaders without discussing the matter with the state leadership, according to sources. In the letter, Banerjee mentioned a decision taken by Ghosh bypassing the state leadership. The move is considered a violation of the party constitution.
Meanwhile, the state BJP on Wednesday inducted Abhijit Das , former district president and Diamond Harbour candidate in the Lok Sabha poll, into the state executive committee.
