Divisional commissioner Pravin Gedam held meeting of the election officials in Nashik today

Nashik : The district election office has deleted 10.3 lakh electors’ names across all 15 assembly constituencies under the special intensive electoral roll revision 2026. The draft electoral roll was published on Aug 31. The secondary phase, running from Aug 31 to Sept 30, allows citizens to submit claims and objections. Following this window, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will conduct hearings through Oct 29 to execute final inclusions and corrections. Collectively, the names of 5.5 lakh electors have been deleted from just these four constituencies. ” Gedam appealed to eligible electors and citizens categorized under ‘absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate’ (ASD) to submit their claims to registration officers by September 30. Youths turning 18 on or before Oct 1 are urged to enrol using Form 6. To facilitate this, special camps will be organised at polling centers on Sept 19, 20, 26, and 27, where BLOs will be present from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Deputy district election officer Madhumati Sardesai noted the stark concentration of the purge. “We have received no claims or objections yet. The maximum number of deletions is from four urban assembly segments—Nashik Central, Nashik West, Nashik East, and Deolali.

Gedam reviewed the situation during a visit to the district collectorate on Thursday, holding meetings with election officials, legislators, and political party representatives.
