A 42-year-old HR manager from Thaltej, Ahmedabad, has lodged a complaint against her estranged husband, alleging that he attempted to coerce her into engaging in unnatural sex, physically assaulted her, and threatened to evict her from their home. The Sarkhej police registered her complaint on Wednesday, responding to these serious allegations.
The woman has been living with her 13-year-old son and mother in Thaltej since March 2026, according to the complaint. She alleged that her husband left her in June 2026 and they had been living separately since. The complainant stated that an earlier case had been registered at Vasna police station in 2019 following a dispute between the couple. In her complaint, the woman alleged that on March 8, 2026, her husband assaulted her in front of their son after an argument at their Thaltej home. She further alleged that on the night of June 12, her husband entered her room and attempted to force her into an unnatural sexual act. The woman claimed that the harassment continued until June 26, when her husband allegedly left the house with his belongings.
She said she did not approach police then due to concerns about the impact it would have on her son. The matter was later quashed by Gujarat High Court after they reached a settlement, and she resumed living with her husband for the sake of their son’s future, she said. She alleged that her husband had repeatedly assaulted and harassed her physically and mentally during their marriage and that his relationships with other women had led to frequent disputes between them. When she resisted, he allegedly pinned her down and assaulted her. He also allegedly abused her and threatened to throw her out of the house. Download the TOI App.
