The convoation of IIIT-A will be held on Sept 13 at Prayagraj
Prayagraj : As many as 728 students will be awarded degrees at the 21st Convocation of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) on Sept 12. Prof Arvind A Natu, chairperson, Board of Governors, IISER-Kolkata and MANIT Bhopal, Member of IISER and NITSER Council & German Research Ambassador (since 2007), will be the chief guest and ‘Vigyan Shri’ awardee and professor, NSUT, New Delhi, Prof Bhim Singh, will be the guest of honour. Talking to media persons at Jhalwa campus on Thursday, director, IIIT-A, Prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone, said that besides 728 degrees, the institute would confer 22 medals on meritorious scholars. 466 undergraduate students, 210 postgraduates, 13 dual degrees in M Tech and Ph D, one MBA-Ph D, seven Ph D degrees for working professionals and 31 research scholars will be awarded Ph D degrees at the convocation. Besides, 281 BTech (IT), 140 BTech (ECE) and 45 students of B Tech (Business Informatics) would get their respective undergraduate degrees for the session 2026. Besides, 210 postgraduate degrees, including MTech, MBA and other branches, will be conferred on the same occasion. Divyansh Omar will be awarded the chairperson’s Gold Medal for the year 2026 for his overall academic performance.
Founder and CEO, Disseqt AI, and an alumnus of IIIT-A, Apoorva Kumar, will also be the guest of honour. The Institute Gold Medal for BTech IT will be given to Divyansh Omar, Silver to Shah Aryan and Bronze to Induri Naga Aditya Reddy. The Institute Gold Medal for B Tech (ECE) will be awarded to Kasu Sai Ushasree, Silver to Vidhi Agarwal and Bronze to Dhruv Agrawal. Yash Pant will be awarded gold, Prashant Silver and Megha Keshwarani bronze for getting the highest marks in MBA.
For the BTech graduating batch of 2026, a total of 480 students registered for placements, of whom 462 students were successfully placed, resulting in an overall placement rate of 96.25%. The average Cost to Company (CTC) for placed BTech students stood at approximately ₹32.50 lakh per annum, while the median CTC was ₹26 lakh per annum. Stay updated with the latest Prayagraj news.
