Meeting Addresses Road Repairs and Traffic Management in Prayagraj
A recent meeting at the commissioner’s office, chaired by divisional commissioner Lokesh M, focused on infrastructure improvements in Prayagraj. Officials from the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA), municipal corporation, Public Works Department (PWD), traffic police, and trade representatives participated in the discussions.
The municipal corporation has identified approximately 96 kilometers of roads in need of repair and pothole-filling, with a tender for this work valued at around Rs 6 crore already completed. Additionally, the PDA has pinpointed 38 roads for similar repairs, including those still under the defect liability period. The PWD has also identified around 111 roads requiring attention.
In a bid to enhance traffic management, the civic body is initiating tenders for parking facilities at various locations. Commissioner Lokesh M has instructed officials to take action against illegal parking and encroachments. A committee composed of representatives from the municipal corporation, traffic police, and trade bodies will devise a plan to improve traffic flow on the Niranjan crossing-Ghantaghar stretch.
