MUMBAI: A 23-year-old man died after being crushed in a hit-and-run at Dahisar East late Thursday. The truck driver, Dhruvchand Chaudhary, 51, fled the spot without helping Yadav or taking him to a doctor. The victim, Manjit Yadav, was asleep under a tree on a corner of the road when he was mowed down by a truck. Yadav worked at a restaurant on Ghodbunder Road and lived in Dahisar. Later, he went to sleep under a tree near a petrol pump. Around 11pm, a truck was trying to navigate the stretch and was moving forward and backwards when it crushed Yadav.
On Thursday, he had gone to visit his sister, Shobha.
His relatives rushed to be with him, but Yadav was pronounced dead at 11.10pm. An injured Yadav was rushed to Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivali. Someone called his cousin and informed him about the road crash.
