Mumbai: A 23-year-old man died after being crushed under a truck in a hit-and-run at Dahisar East late Thursday. The victim, Manjit Yadav, was asleep under a tree on a corner of the road when he was killed.
Around 11 pm, a truck navigating that stretch crushed Yadav. The truck driver, Dhruvchand Chaudhary, 51, fled from the location without helping Yadav or taking him to a doctor. Yadav worked at a restaurant on Ghodbunder Road and lived in Dahisar. Later, he went off to sleep under a tree near a petrol pump.
On Thursday, he had gone to visit his sister, Shobha.
But Yadav was pronounced dead at 11.10 pm. An injured Yadav was rushed to Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivli. Someone called his cousin and informed him of the road crash. His relatives rushed to his side.
