Madurai: S Rajagopal, 88, honorary chairperson of Madurai’s Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, and his wife Vanitha, 77, died within nine hours of each other on Tuesday. Vanitha died around 8.30am after health complications, while Rajagopal, who was already unwell, died around 5.30pm. A prominent industrialist and educationist, Rajagopal had headed several trade and industry bodies and served the college in key positions since 1981.
