Prayagraj : A constable posted at Kunda police station was injured after allegedly being attacked by five bike-borne auto-lifters near the Sahjamalpur border in Pratapgarh early Friday.

Police later arrested one of the accused, identified as Dharampal (55) of Kabirpur village, and seized a motorcycle used in the crime. Following the incident, senior police officers, accompanied by additional police personnel, rushed to the spot and launched a combing operation. Stay updated with the latest Prayagraj news.

Five suspected auto-lifters riding two motorcycles were moving around the area with the intention of committing thefts, according to police. When two on-duty constables attempted to stop them, the suspects allegedly attacked the policemen with an iron rod, injuring constable Ajeet Kumar. During the search, police managed to apprehend one of the accused. The injured constable later lodged an FIR against three named accused and two unidentified persons in connection with the attack. He was admitted to the Kunda Community Health Centre for treatment. Download the TOI App.
