City residents can trade plastic waste for an eco-friendly Ganesh idol under a four-day

From Sept 11 to 14, residents who bring clean and segregated household plastic waste to designated AMC zonal offices will receive a Ganesh idol made from cow dung. Ahmedabad: City residents can trade plastic waste for an eco-friendly Ganesh idol under a four-day initiative launched by AMC. The initiative, launched by AMC’s solid waste management department, is aimed at encouraging segregation and proper disposal of plastic waste.

The idols will be given to the first 100 participants in each of the city’s seven zones on a first-come, first-served basis. The collection and distribution centres will remain open from 11am to 6pm, including Saturday and Sunday. The collection points will be managed by the respective zonal deputy directors of the solid waste management department.
