Ganesha idol commissioned by Mohan Rao family to be installed at Sanghaniketan at Mannagudda in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: The 79th annual Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava organised by Keshava Smrithi Samvardhana Trust, Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti, Sanghaniketan, Pratapnagar, will be held from Sept 14 to 18. The celebrations will begin at 10 am on Sept 14 with the inauguration by Bharat Kumar , pracharak of the Dakshina Madhya Kshetra of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh , followed by a Ganahoma. A prize distribution ceremony for various competitions will be held at 6.45 pm under the chairmanship of Arjun Bhandarkar, president of Save Life Charitable Trust. Moodaganapati Seva and Rangapuja will be held from 7.45 pm. On Sept 15, a Yuva Samavesha will be held at 10 am. A cultural programme titled ‘Saptakshetra Mahatme’, presented by the Sri Panchajanya Pratishthana, will be held at 6 pm. On Sept 16, Ushakala Puja will be held at 5 am, followed by annasantarpane at 1.30 pm. A Bharatanatyam presentation titled ‘Sri Ganeshamrutha’ will be held at 6 pm by Vidushi Vaishnavi Prabhu and students of Ganjimutt Natanam Nritya Vidyalaya. A women’s convention will be held at 2.30 p.m. on Sept 17. A ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ featuring Dharwad singer Dr Vijaykumar Patil will be held at 6 pm. The concluding day, Sept 18, will feature Visarjana Puja at 1.15 pm and a Sankalpa programme at 5.30 pm. The Sri Maha Ganapati Shobhayatra will begin from Sanghaniketan at 6.15 pm and pass through Mannagudda, New Chitra Junction and Car Street before immersion at the pond of Sri Mahamayi Temple. Except on the opening day, afternoon puja will be held at 1.15 pm and night puja at 8.30 pm daily, stated a release.
