Jalpaiguri: Kotwali police detained three more Class 10 students of Jalpaiguri Zilla School late on Friday for allegedly assaulting headmaster Dharma Chand Barai on Tuesday. Parents of one student said they were considering lodging a complaint with police against Barai. All four were identified from videos that went viral after the incident. Two of them were admitted to Jalpaiguri Medical College and Hospital after allegedly being beaten up by Barai that day. Download the TOI App.
Earlier on Friday, police detained one student from the school premises when he came to attend classes. The four students were produced before Juvenile Justice Board on Saturday and sent to Korok juvenile home for two days. They will again be produced before Juvenile Justice Board on Monday. Meanwhile, acting on instructions of state school education minister Dipak Barman, who visited the school on Friday, Zilla school authority issued TCs to the four students on Saturday.
