State police are learnt to have registered at least two cases and identified over 3,000 posts abusing Puthezhath and his family. Kochi : Kerala Police have launched an investigation following a cyberattack targeting journalist Jijo John Puthezhath, who passed away on Wednesday.

Hounding a journalist after his death over the news reports he had published, and targeting his surviving family members, is inhuman, he said. “Defamatory campaigns are being carried out on social media against a deceased man and his family. How cruel can this be?” the CM asked. He added that some people were out to do such things and they have the support of certain political parties. Home minister Ramesh Chennithala had termed the cyberattack highly reprehensible and cruel. Chennithala added that IG, cyber division, has been directed to take stringent action.
