Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Two people were arrested late on Friday nightfor allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old pharmacist to death inside his medical store in Harsul in the afternoon after his family purportedly rejected a marriage proposal for his sister from one of the accused. Harsul police inspector Swati Kedar said Rehan Amin Patel (25) of Karimnagar, one of the two arrested accused, had proposed marriage to Faisal’s 19-year-old sister around five to six months ago. We are investigating the exact sequence of events and the role of the second accused, identified as Sameer Raees Shaikh (24) of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar,” Kedar said. Police said between 12.30pm and 1pm on Friday, Patel and Shaikh allegedly entered Faisal’s medical store and got into an altercation with him.
Police identified the deceased as Shaikh Mohammed Faisal, who ran the family-owned medical store on Kolthanwadi Road in Karimnagar, Harsul. “The proposal was turned down as the family had already arranged her marriage elsewhere. A court on Saturday remanded the two accused to five days of police custody.
Investigators are probing whether the accused had any prior confrontations with the victim and if others were involved in the attack.
