Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has resumed his activity on Elon Musk ’s social network X in 2026, ending a three-year hiatus away from the rival microblogging platform. He originally restarted posting on the platform to announce news regarding Muse Spark 1.1 AI model. His latest post was on September 9 when he introduced “Muse, the personal agent that understands your goals and works 24/7 to get things done for you.
Rather than using the service purely for personal promotion, Zuckerberg revealed that the decision came down to reaching specific engineering talent and researchers who remain deeply rooted on X. Around the same time, he was asked on a podcast why he chose to cross-post updates on an opposing network despite running Meta’s direct alternative, Threads.
Since then, Meta CEO has been a regular on the microblogging website.
Defending his decision to maintain an active presence across multiple digital channels, Zuckerberg emphasised that different audiences cluster in distinct online spaces. A significant portion of the machine learning and research community continues to gather and communicate primarily on X, creating a space where the company needs an active corporate presence. Essentially, Zuckerberg’s return to X is serving as a ‘megaphone’ for Meta’s AI launches in the year. The company is promoting its AI models to developers and customers.
