Kolkata: A celebration of eloquence, artistic flair and intellectual brilliance unfolded at Delhi Public School Newtown on Aug 22 as the institution hosted the ASISC West Bengal, Sikkim North East States Fr. George Hess Regional Literary Events 2026.
Highlighting the importance of nurturing authentic creativity in the digital age, Sailesh Pandey, secretary, ASISC WB, Sikkim & NE Chapter, noted, “These literary events give children a platform to step away from screens and showcase their genuine creativity” DPS Newtown vice-principal Rahi Mukhopadhyay commended the participants poise and depth, noting that events like this play a vital role in building students’ confidence. Bringing together the finest young talents from dozens of CISCE-affiliated institutions across the region, the inter-school meet provided an expansive stage for creative expression, sharp dialectics and critical enquiry. The day-long literary convention witnessed spirited competition across seven disciplines, including debate, declamation, quiz, creative writing, poetry writing, storytelling and painting.

The day culminated in a grand felicitation ceremony where champions were awarded certificates, trophies and gold medals, formally sealing their qualification for the national finals.
