Mohammad Jadav (56), a resident of Sarkhej, alleged that his son, Shoaib, had been married to Muskan Shahjada for around eight years, according to a complaint registered by Kalol Taluka police on Friday. The couple had a 7-year-old son, Uzer. Police recovered Uzer’s body from the Kadi canal on Aug 31, while Shoaib’s body was found in the Pij Narmada canal on Sept 1, the complaint stated.

Jadav stated that following a marital dispute, Muskan had been living at her parental home for the past six months, while Shoaib had moved back with his parents. The family later collected Shoaib’s mobile phone from Adalaj police and examined its contents. Kalol Taluka police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the six persons named in the FIR.

Ahmedabad : A mobile phone video allegedly recorded shortly before a 30-year-old man and his 7-year-old son drowned in a canal has prompted the victim‘s father to file a complaint of abetment to suicide against six persons, alleging they drove his son to take the extreme step. On the night of Aug 30, Shoaib asked his father for the keys to a motorcycle, saying he wanted to take Uzer for a ride, according to the complaint. When the two did not return, the family later learnt that a motorcycle and a mobile phone had been found near the Adalaj canal.
