In Varanasi, two men lost their lives after a speeding car collided with their motorcycle from behind. The incident occurred on Thursday night near the proposed old age home along the Mirzapur-Prayagraj highway, specifically in the Ashtabhuja Chowk area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Vindhyachal police station. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
One of the injured, Bharat Pal, 35, a resident of Chikan Tola in the Vindhyachal police station area, died during treatment. The second victim, Deenu Pal, 45, was referred to Varanasi in critical condition, where he later died during treatment. The car was coming from the Prayagraj side when it struck the motorcycle and fled towards Mirzapur, according to reports. SHO Ajit Singh said the accident took place near Ashtabhuja Toll Plaza and that both men died during treatment. Both riders fell on the road and sustained serious injuries. Vindhyachal police took custody of both bodies and completed separate inquest proceedings in Mirzapur and Varanasi before sending them for post-mortem examination. Download the TOI App.
MLA Takes Action in Response to Roadside Incident
City MLA Pandit Ratnakar Mishra discovered two injured men lying on the roadside while returning home after visiting the area. He promptly arranged for their transportation to the divisional hospital for medical attention.
