The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says her children have given her a stronger sense of purpose, while also pushing her to show them what it means to dream big and work hard. For Brittany Mahomes , motherhood did not mean putting her own ambitions on hold. Instead, becoming a mother of three appears to have changed the way she approaches both family and work. Brittany Mahomes entered motherhood while already building a life of her own. Three children later, Brittany says motherhood has changed more than her daily routine. “Being a mom changed so many things in my life and changed how I looked at so many things,” Brittany, 30, told Yahoo Entertainment in June 2026. “At the end of the day, my kids are watching me, and I want them to know that I’m working hard,” she told Yahoo!Life in February 2024. “I think when you become a mom, you learn to say no to things that aren’t as important and focus on what’s best for your life and your family,” she said.
It has influenced the way she thinks about her goals, her time and the example she wants to set at home. “It really reshaped and redefined a lot of things in my life. That change does not sound like a retreat from ambition. If anything, Brittany appears to have found another reason to keep moving. She explained that motherhood has made her more deliberate about the opportunities she takes and the people and causes she gives her attention to. Her priorities have become clearer, with family now playing a major role in how she measures what is worth pursuing. There is a simple lesson behind those words. Brittany does not want her children to learn about ambition only through their father’s NFL career. She wants them to see it through her actions, too. That means continuing to build her own professional identity while raising three young children. For Brittany, success is not just about having a busy schedule or being attached to a famous sports family. It is about demonstrating that family and personal ambition can exist at the same time. Patrick Mahomes has spent much of his adult life under the brightest lights in American sports. His NFL career demands long hours, travel, preparation and an enormous physical commitment. Brittany understands that her children see that effort. But she also wants them to see hers. And he’s working hard and doing stuff that he loves.
