BENGALURU: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) claims and notices period, running from Aug 24 to Oct 22, covers 43.8 lakh voters who have been asked to provide documents establishing their place and date of birth. By Friday, 7 lakh people had completed their hearings. Problem: The voter’s 2002 details were not filled in the enumeration form, making it difficult to establish the link with the 2002 electoral roll. Documents produced: 10th markscard + birth certificate + passport Problem: The voter’s 2002 details were not filled in the enumeration form, leading to a discrepancy in the old-record verification. Documents produced: Passport + bank passbook + CGHS medical card Problem: The voter’s 2002 details were not filled in the enumeration form, creating difficulty in establishing the old electoral-roll record. Documents produced: 10th marks sheet + voter’s passport + father’s passport Problem: The voter’s maiden name appeared in the 2002 electoral roll, while her post-marriage name appeared in the current record. Documents produced: 10th marks card showing maiden name + Aadhaar showing her name after marriage Problem: The voter’s name was misspelt in the 2002 electoral roll. He alleged SIR was being conducted within a short time frame despite the state having more than 5 crore voters. Raj said evidence would be presented at a Delhi gathering on Oct 1 or 2 and taken to courts by Oct 15.
