Kanpur: A 45-year-old man who jumped into the Shyamnala river to rescue his 12-year-old son was swept away by the strong current after managing to bring the boy to safety in Maudaha town of Hamirpur district. His body was recovered nearly 20 hours later on Sunday.
Ramkishor’s body was found around 10 am, lodged in bushes about 500 metres from the incident site. Ramkishor alias Dagru, a resident of Urdana village in the Kotwali area, had gone with his son Mohit to graze goats near the river on Saturday. The NDRF resumed the search on Sunday morning.
