The KC Current had a huge day on October 25, when a record 18,000 fans gathered across CPKC Stadium and Current Landing for the team’s final home game of the season. The former soccer player helped bring the club to Kansas City when it was founded in 2020 alongside owners Angie and Chris Long. Patrick joined the ownership group in 2022, making the club a family affair. The October 25 home finale against the Washington Spirit gave the Current another reason to celebrate. The team won 2-1, while the combined crowd at the stadium and the outdoor Current Landing viewing area reached a record 18,000. Because of her famous NFL husband, brittany is not just attached to the KC Current. The crowd does not mean the team made a specific amount of money that day, and there are no confirmed figures for the match’s total earnings. Brittany Mahomes has another reason to celebrate as the Kansas City Current continues to make noise both on and off the soccer field. And while the crowd came out to support the team, there is a much bigger business story behind the celebration. Her own soccer background makes the project especially meaningful. Brittany played soccer in college and later played professionally in Iceland before turning her attention to other ventures. But Brittany’s involvement started before that, and the team’s growth has given her plenty to celebrate. But a packed stadium and a growing fan base can help a club attract sponsors, sell tickets and build its business over time. For Brittany, the latest milestone is another reminder that the soccer venture she helped launch has grown into one of the biggest businesses in women’s professional soccer. And with the Current continuing to expand its reach, the Mahomes family’s sports portfolio has plenty more room to grow. Get the latest Sports News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
The Current had also secured a playoff spot before the game, adding another reason for fans to turn up and celebrate.
The team, co-owned by Brittany and her husband, Patrick Mahomes , is now valued at a whopping $325 million, according to Forbes’ 2026 NWSL valuations. That is an 18% jump from its $275 million valuation in 2025. Not bad for a soccer club that began playing in 2021! The team generated an estimated $38 million in revenue in 2025, according to Forbes, tying with Angel City FC for the highest revenue in the NWSL. CPKC Stadium opened in 2024 after an investment of around $140 million, giving the team new ways to make money through tickets, premium seating, concessions, sponsorships and other events. For comparison, Forbes reported that the Current generated only around $3 million in revenue during its first season in 2021. That makes the jump to $38 million in estimated annual revenue a remarkable change in just a few years. Of course, the team’s $325 million valuation is not the same as the money Brittany personally owns or earns.
The KC Current’s growth has been impressive. The club’s purpose-built home has played a major role in that success. It represents an estimate of the club’s overall value.
