Hyderabad : Ram Reddy Samula was elected chairperson of the Bar Council of Telangana on Sunday, succeeding A Narsimha Reddy, who held the post for nearly two decades.

Venkat Yadav Chalakani was elected vice-chairperson, while Kiran Kumar G was nominated to the Bar Council of India as part of the results announced on Sept 13. The closely contested election was held in Jan 2026. Counting was conducted between Feb 10 and March 24, following which election authorities declared 23 advocates elected to the Telangana Bar Council on March 26.
