In Q2FY27, the company’s net profit nearly doubled to Rs 53 crore from Rs 28 crore in Q2FY26, while revenue rose 36% to Rs 1,598 crore. Exports grew 30% to Rs 388 crore, accounting for about 24% of the topline. The company reported strong demand across its businesses in the Sept quarter, with construction equipment wheels, air suspension systems and automotive wheels emerging as key growth drivers.
Chennai: Auto parts maker Wheels India Ltd expects growth to continue in the second half of FY27, supported by strong domestic demand and export momentum, even as inflation and a high base in the previous year could moderate the pace of growth, said Srivats Ram, managing director of the company. “Managing inflation and ramping up production are our two main challenges,” Ram said, adding that demand remained strong across most of the segments the company serves.
Its sales to the US rose around 50% year-on-year in Q2. Capital expenditure stood at Rs 91 crore in Q2 and Rs 145 crore in the first half of FY27. The company expects full-year capex of Rs 400 crore to Rs 450 crore, significantly above its typical annual spending of around Rs 250 crore in recent years. The company raised Rs 180 crore through a preference share issue and Rs 250 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP), with the proceeds largely earmarked for debt reduction.
We do not see any slowdown in our planned spending for the current financial year,” Ram said, adding that customers across segments continued to place orders and seek higher supplies. Wheels India has benefited from demand in the US construction equipment market, supported by infrastructure development, including the data centre boom. The company expects this trend to continue driving exports. Wheels India is addressing capacity constraints through debottlenecking and additional investments. “Capital expenditure is largely on track.
