17-year-old among three killed in separate road accidents in Nashik district

The accident led to heavy traffic congestion on Dindori Road

In the first case, motorcyclist Santosh Gangurde (30) of Cidco was killed after being run over by a state transport bus on Dindori Road around 6.30pm on Sunday. Police identified the victims as Asif Shaikh (32) and Saeef Shaikh (17).

Mhasrul police said the accident occurred when both the bus, bound for Kalwan, and the motorcyclist were travelling in the same direction. Police said preliminary investigations suggested that a momentary error in judgement by either the bus driver or the rider led to the bus hitting the motorcycle from the rear, causing the rider to come under the rear wheels of the bus. Mhasrul police reached the scene and shifted the motorcyclist to Nashik Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The accident led to heavy traffic congestion on Dindori Road, with normal movement restored only after police cleared the site. Police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against the truck driver.

In another incident on Yeola-Kopargaon highway, two motorcycle-borne people lost their lives after a speeding truck hit their vehicle on Sunday.
