Eatery owner held for depicting Lord Ganesha having biryani
Tirunelveli: Tirunelveli city police on Saturday arrested Jeyanth, a 30-year-old restaurant owner, over allegations that he erected a banner outside his eatery depicting Lord Ganesha having biryani. Police said Selvaraj, 42, a builder from Narasinganallur in Tirunelveli, lodged a complaint after noticing the banner at ‘Dindigul Kalyana Biryani’ restaurant near VM Chathiram flyover on Saturday. Based on the complaint seeking action against those responsible, police registered a case under Section 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) of BNS and launched an inquiry.
