Kochi : Kaloor substation power supply issue has been resolved with the restoration of 220kV power supply.
The faulty 220kV feeder was charged at 1.31pm on Sunday and kept under observation in no-load condition for 24 hours. Subsequently, on Monday at 1.21pm, the feeder was loaded and 220kV power supply was restored. As a result, the substation was relying on 110kV supply. Because of this, Kaloor and other areas in the city were facing an acute crisis.

Following a fault in the 220kV feeders from Brahmapuram substation, 220kV supply to Kaloor substation was disrupted. After the power supply issue came to his notice, T J Vinod, MLA, brought the matter to the attention of the electricity minister and demanded urgent action. He then continuously followed up with concerned KSEB officials, reviewed the situation and expedited restoration measures. The functioning of the substation was normalised by re-adjusting the load arrangements at Kaloor substation as required. With the restoration of 220kV supply to Kaloor substation, the issue related to distribution has been resolved. Download the TOI App.
