Belagavi : Three youths were killed on the spot after a KSRTC bus collided with a motorcycle on the Savadatti-Dharwad Road late on Monday night.
The deceased were identified as Vinod Jogennavar, 22, Akash Jadhav, 20, and Ravi Kurabar, 22, all residents of Savadatti. Based on a complaint lodged by Meghana Jogennavar, wife of the deceased Vinod, Savadatti Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the incident.
Police said the three were travelling triple-seat on an unregistered motorcycle when the accident took place. The bus, driven by Yusuf Mainuddin Pinjar of Madargaon in Bidar district, was allegedly being driven rashly and at high speed while proceeding from Savadatti towards Dharwad, according to a police complaint. Police said Vinod was riding the motorcycle, while Akash and Ravi were pillion riders.
The motorcycle was travelling in opposite direction when it was hit by the bus. All three youths sustained severe head and facial injuries and died immediately after the collision.
