Kanpur: District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh directed the UP Pollution Control Board officials to take action in accordance with the rules against tannery units that fail to pay bills for operation and Maintenance (O & M) charges. A point-by-point review of the various tasks associated with the project was conducted during the meeting. The district magistrate directed that the UPPCB and the project engineer jointly prepare a report regarding all outstanding works related to pipelines and manholes under the project. This report is to be verified by the secretary, JETETA, and submitted within two days. The status of the disposal of solid waste and sludge generated by the CETP was also reviewed. the district magistrate instructed the contractor concerned to complete all tasks within the stipulated time frame While reviewing the remaining works related to the CETP plant. He directed that the project’s pending works be finished within the set deadline. The status of the operation and maintenance (O&M) charges for the CETP was also reviewed during the meeting.
