Mayor Addresses Building Approval Delays and Traffic Congestion
Mayor Aher and Deputy Mayor Shinde have acknowledged delays in building permission approvals, responding to concerns raised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai) Nashik. Town planning officials cited technical issues with the state’s Building Proposal Management System (BPMS) as the primary cause of these delays. The mayor committed to preparing a detailed proposal to address these issues and will engage with the state government to expedite the process.
In a related directive, Khatri has tasked the property tax department with promptly assessing new properties to ensure appropriate tax levies. She also announced plans for ward-wise camps throughout the city to assist residents in registering unassessed properties.
Khatri highlighted the impact of illegal ramps constructed by building owners and shopkeepers, which contribute to traffic congestion. Although previous notices have been issued, enforcement has been lacking. A coordinated enforcement drive will now be initiated to remove these ramps and clear pathways for both vehicles and pedestrians.
