Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin said chief minister C Joseph Vijay was unleashing police on former DMK minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi as a diversionary tactic to cover TVK govt’s failures. He said the state is facing multiple issues, including power cuts triggering massive public outrage, agitations by Pattinapakkam fishermen against the proposal for a new secretariat in the area, protests by families of pilgrims who went missing in Nepal, and shortage of Aavin milk. “The chief minister is also unconcerned about the brutal double murder in Ramanathapuram, murder of a state bus driver during Ganesh Chathurthi processions in Chennai, and the harassment of a woman police officer by a TVK functionary in Ayanavaram,” said Stalin. This govt will soon realise that baseless allegations will never hold up in a court of law,” he said.

“Raiding the houses of opposition leaders will not silence public anger.
