The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Bopal police in Ahmedabad have apprehended a 19-year-old man from Rajasthan in connection with a tragic accident that occurred on DPS Canal Road. The incident, which took place early Saturday morning, resulted in the death of a 29-year-old woman. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident as they work to gather further details.

The accident occurred when the teen was allegedly riding his motorcycle at high speed and in a rash manner, according to police. Police said CCTV footage and statements of witnesses helped them identify the motorcycle rider. Police traced the teen to his native village in Dungarpur district to which he had allegedly fled after the accident. He collided with a scooter ridden by Nishi Darji near a three-way junction on DPS Canal Road. Her husband, Hardik Darji, a choreographer, registered a complaint with Bopal police in which he stated that on the night of the accident, he met his wife at Pakwan Crossroads after finishing his class. They then travelled home on separate two-wheelers. He had been undergoing treatment at Sola Civil Hospital but allegedly left without informing doctors.

The rider was brought to Ahmedabad and arrested on Wednesday morning.
