Vinod Tawde, the national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and in-charge of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, is set to visit Gorakhpur on Thursday. His two-day trip will focus on conducting an organizational review meeting aimed at evaluating the party’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. This meeting is crucial as it seeks to ensure that the party is strategically positioned ahead of the electoral contest.

The discussions will cover all 62 assembly constituencies under the party’s regional jurisdiction. The Gorakhpur region comprises 10 administrative districts and 12 BJP organisational districts. Regional BJP general secretary Satyendra Sinha said Tawde’s visit will include meetings with senior party leaders and elected representatives to discuss organisational issues and election preparedness. Party sources said special attention is likely to be given to constituencies in the Basti and Azamgarh divisions. Tawde’s visit will be his first major review tour of the region since being entrusted with responsibility for the UP assembly elections.
