Modi said today’s fourth instalment of Annapurna Yojana was reaching accounts of approximately 1.5 crore women, providing Rs 3,000 per month. Modi said women had played a key role in bringing about the change of govt on May 4 and that the new administration’s focus was on delivery rather than promises.

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the state govt would ensure no eligible woman was left out of Annapurna Yojana, addressing women in Bengal virtually on ‘Annapurna Divas’, marked to coincide with his 76th birthday. Within days of the govt being formed, Annapurna Yojana was launched, and today the money reaches bank accounts directly.
