He signed with WWE in 2002 and initially struggled to develop a character that clicked with the crowd, his trajectory changed with the “Doctor of Thuganomics” persona, where he merged freestyle rap, humor, and a brash personality with his imposing wrestling presence. Cena’s breakthrough in WWE came when he moved from his original generic persona to the “Doctor of Thuganomics” character. John Cena’s post-WWE career was not an overnight success; his initial movies were based on his wrestling persona and physicality. His later movies provided him with opportunities to demonstrate his comedic timing and his broader acting skills.
