The complainant said she was at Shardaben Hospital on Oct 7 with an earache when she met the accused, aged between 30 and 35 years. The accused made the complainant withdraw Rs 15,000 in total from three different ATMs.
She allegedly said the complainant could avail herself of free treatment under the “Pradhan Mantri Scheme” but would have to make payments and fill out forms. She had covered her face with a dupatta and claimed to be a govt employee. Next, she made the senior woman remove all her jewellery, saying that the bank would not approve the application if she was seen wearing gold.
