Kanpur: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association conducted a practical examination for 30 scorers and umpires at Green Park Stadium on Thursday. This assessment is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to ensure the proficiency and standards of officials in the sport.
Manoj Pundeer, the objective of the examination is to impartially assess the practical competence and understanding of the laws of cricket of umpires and scorers eligible for the state panel, according to chairperson umpires committee. Taposh Chatterji senior BCCI curator and Surendra Sinth Chauhan addressed the junior curators and told them about the preperation and maintinance of pitch and ground . Thirty scorers scored the match via video. A written test for the scorers was also conducted later. Meanwhile, the umpires underwent a practical test by officiating an actual match. Former international umpire Anil Chaudhary conducted the practical test for umpires, while P Jayapal conducted the practical test for scorers.
