On Thursday, Ahmedabad was under cloudy skies throughout the day, culminating in light to moderate rainfall during the evening and night. The city recorded an average rainfall of 7mm by 8 PM, with some areas receiving over 10mm of precipitation. This weather pattern reflects the ongoing climatic variability affecting the region, contributing to localized rainfall events.
Bopal received the highest rainfall in the city at 16.5 mm, followed by Paldi with 14 mm, according to AMC data. Ramol and Kalupur recorded 13.5 mm each, while Thaltej and Asarwa received 13mm each; Motera recorded 12mm and Sarkhej 11.5mm. Till Thursday morning, Gujarat had received 84.8% of its seasonal rainfall.
The fresh spell helped reduce the rainfall deficit in Kutch, North Gujarat and Saurashtra, according to State Emergency Operations Centre data. Sudden heavy spells forced many commuters to take shelter along roadsides.
The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 32.9°C, 0.7 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 25.4°C, 0.4 degrees above normal. Across Gujarat, 86 talukas received 1mm or more of rainfall till 8pm. The IMD also indicated that the southwest monsoon is likely to begin withdrawing from Rajasthan from Sept 19 onwards.

Okhamandal in Devbhumi Dwarka recorded the highest rainfall at 71mm, followed by Becharaji in Mehsana with 37mm, Radhanpur in Patan with 33mm, Khergam in Navsari with 31mm and Wankaner in Morbi with 30mm of rainfall.
